From actor to food business owner , “Jemmy James – Teeradon Supapanpinyo”<\/strong> reveals a life beyond the entertainment industry. He shares his extreme lifestyle on the Prime Cast<\/strong> program, discussing heavy drinking but equally intense fitness. He admits to spending 30% of his life drinking but believes he can maintain a balance. He also recounts the shocking moment after a migraine checkup revealed a 2.7 cm cyst in his brain, and shares how his perspective changed after facing this unexpected event. <\/p>\n\n

What are you doing right now?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> Basically, we have JMJ LABEL which manages itself, with teams for content, editing, and marketing. And since it’s food content, we also have a team of chefs. That’s the JMJ LABEL side. Then there’s the “Talay Jai” side, where I don’t dare call myself CEO because the company isn’t that big yet, but I oversee various aspects and try to implement systems to manage things. There are two main branches, but the primary focus is on the food business. Right now, food and beverage (F&B) accounts for about 90% of our operations.<\/p>\n\n

Why did you choose to enter the F&B (Food and Beverage) business?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> When I go to compete, I don’t want to lose. I like to win because I said on the show, “After I finish, I’ll host a Chef’s Table.” I said that on the show, so now I have to do it.<\/p>\n\n

How was your first Chef’s Table event?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> When we first organized it, all the people who came were friends. But when we saw that our friends came to eat, said it was delicious, and that they were happy, and that they could meet, talk, socialize, and drink together, we realized that food is one thing where we can put our creativity, our artistry, and the stories we want to tell. But it’s not just that; what’s even more important is the atmosphere that happens during the event. The food has to be good, it has to be a high standard. When the atmosphere is so great, it’s amazing to us. That’s why, after organizing our first Chef’s Table, we felt like we fell in love with cooking.<\/p>\n\n

Wasn’t it stressful cooking for your first time and cooking for your friends? And do you think your friends gave you honest feedback?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> It’s stressful, and we think they give honest feedback because the friends we chose aren’t the kind who say, “It’s so delicious, so well made,” but rather, “We think this is too salty,” or “The rice is too soggy.” They’re friends who talk like that all the time, so we felt like we wanted to invite this group. As for the food, we think our flavors are quite accessible to most people. We like spicy Thai food, so if we think it tastes good, we believe others will find it delicious too. It’s become like our main job now.<\/p>\n\n

Does cooking a lot of food make us eat more in real life?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> I’ve tried eating more, but in my daily life, I haven’t eaten more. I eat about the same amount.<\/p>\n\n

When it comes to taste, do I have to go around trying different restaurants?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> Tasting. When we cook, one way to gain skills or learn new things is to try other people’s food. We have to observe their techniques, their combinations\u2014what they pair together. So, we have to eat more, but not in terms of quantity. For example, if we usually eat a certain type of rice for dinner, we just change to eating at a different restaurant instead.<\/p>\n\n

As an actor, are you a really good series and drama actor?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> My main job is still acting. It’s fun. At first, when I was working on Hormones, I didn’t know that the core of Hormones is based on real-life experiences and encourages natural acting because it’s everyone’s first role. But for the second and third roles, I didn’t know at first. I only found out during the filming of Bad Genius and SOS: A Wrong Step, a Life-Changing Challenge, which were two projects filmed back-to-back. For Bad Genius, I did a lot of research, like watching a lot of actors, such as Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street, and then watching similar films like Ocean’s Eleven and things like that. <\/p>\n\n

I felt that “Bad Genius” was really fun. We got to explore new acting styles, and it was my first film. Acting on a film screen is different from acting on a TV series. Then, right after that, there was “SOS: One Wrong Step, One Life Changes.” I practiced skateboarding for a year. Actually, the “Bad Genius” crew called me in for a meeting when I broke my arm. They said I had to stop practicing skateboarding because if I suddenly broke my arm and couldn’t film “Bad Genius,” they would have to replace me immediately. But I practiced as usual, just making sure not to break it again, because I had already broken my arm once during practice for “SOS.” And it was something that made me truly understand what it means to be an actor \u2013 to transform yourself completely, changing your voice, your attitude, everything. After “SOS: One Wrong Step, One Life Changes,” I realized that this is the profession I love and find enjoyable.<\/p>\n\n

Is Jamie James a man who does his own makeup?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> Before, I used to see news saying that wearing this kind of makeup meant I was gay, but I didn’t care. Now, I can wear whatever I want; it’s very normal. I still do my own makeup these days. If I have to go out for a little while, I’ll wear light makeup, like “no makeup” makeup.<\/p>\n\n

Do you think you’re good at dressing up, and how do you gain the confidence to dress that way?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> It can’t be taught. It depends on whether you feel confident wearing something, on how you dress and how you feel confident. You see me wearing sneakers and cool jeans, but I wouldn’t wear heels if you asked me to, because I wouldn’t pull it off, I wouldn’t feel confident in them. Everyone has their own perspective on what makes them feel confident or look good in a particular style.<\/p>\n\n

As a child, I often cared about what other people thought. How did I break free from that, become myself, and dress the way I wanted without caring what others thought?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> It started with pants not having my size because I used to be very thin, so I had to buy women’s pants. Men’s pants started at size 28 inches, which I couldn’t wear; they were too loose. I had to wear women’s clothes. Before, I wore a 24-25 inch waist, now I wear 28 inches. Now I can wear men’s sizes, which I really couldn’t before. So I started wearing women’s clothes, and I felt that women’s jeans suited my figure. So I started wearing women’s clothes more and more. Then, when boots came along, I tried them on, and I felt like I liked my physique. I don’t need to be very tall, but when paired with pants that bunch up at the bottom and the heel of the boots, I felt like I liked this look.<\/p>\n\n

What are some tips for curing a hangover?<\/strong>Jimmy James:<\/strong> You have to get rid of hangovers, like through exercise. Before, when I go to the gym and lift weights, my heart rate fluctuates a bit. But if I run in the park, I can’t handle it. If I run normally, I control zone 2, but it goes up to zone 3, my heart rate increases by about 10-20 bpm. But weight training is fine, and I like it. Before working out, I take supplements, which makes my heart rate go up really fast. Another trick I recently tried and really like is ice baths and saunas. There’s an older friend, around 40 years old, who parties all the time. I asked him why he still looks so young, and he said he goes to the sauna every day after drinking to flush out toxins. It’s great, and that’s why he looks so young. <\/p>\n\n

Do you drink every day?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> I’ve been counting, for three months now, and there hasn’t been a single day I haven’t drunk. And I’ve been drinking heavily, like, really going all out. It’s not like I’ll just have two or three drinks and count that; I’m drinking full force every single day. I wake up and start drinking right away.<\/p>\n\n

There was a period when your face was swollen. What caused that?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> That’s why my face is swollen. The news reports showed my face looking swollen like that, but we need to go back and explain why it happened that way. It started when I was filming the series “Sathu.” During filming, I didn’t go to the gym at all because the role didn’t allow for muscles. Actually, I could run, but I didn’t. I didn’t exercise at all. My goal was to finish filming the series in early February, go on a trip to Japan to ski and snowboard, and then get back on track. And while in Japan, I went all out again \u2013 especially with Japanese beer. When I came back, I tore a ligament, so I couldn’t exercise for about 9-10 months. That means for 9-10 months, I was getting carbohydrates non-stop. So when I drank beer, I got swollen. My weight didn’t increase; it was fat. Because for a period, I was lifting weights constantly. There was a time when I weighed 52 kg, then went up to 62 kg, and then dropped down to 58 kg. But that was intentional muscle gain. The period when I drank heavily was when my weight fluctuated from 58 kg to around 60 kg. But weight isn’t the issue; it’s about fat, protein, or swelling. Ultimately, if my weight increased by 1 kg, it might only be by 1 kg, but it would be pure fat. One kilogram of fat is huge and heavy.<\/p>\n\n

Tips for reducing bloating and managing diet from a cook: How did you manage to lose weight back then?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> My face is starting to look a little smaller. I’m controlling my diet a bit. When I’m really going to the gym, I’m very strict with my diet. But when I’m not going to the gym, I control my breakfast and lunch \u2013 just two meals a day.<\/p>\n\n

If there were one reason why someone would want to quit drinking, what would it be?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> No, honestly, it’s not a good example, but seriously, James loves to drink. He loves the taste, the feeling. And we’ll work hard, take care of our health so we’re healthy enough, and we’ll have enough money to be able to drink good alcohol every day, continuously.<\/p>\n\n

Have you noticed any changes in your health since drinking heavily recently?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> Living a normal life is about balance. I don’t want to say that drinking is good. Ultimately, it’s about finding a balance. You can drink a lot, but if you eat well and exercise enough, it balances out. I might not be as health-conscious as others, but I love alcohol. I love it, I love the taste. People drink in many ways. Some like going to cocktail bars, chatting, trying new things. Some drink for fun, to party. But I drink because I love the taste, the feeling. I find it delicious. I love the smell of cognac, the aroma of white grapes blended and aged in French oak barrels.<\/p>\n\n

Are you experiencing any health problems these days?<\/strong> Jimmy James:<\/strong> It’s been a recurring problem. Actually, I’ve had allergies since I was a child. The whole family has them \u2013 four of us: two older sisters, me, and my younger brother \u2013 all have allergies. My sisters have to get injections and take medication continuously for about two years, I think, to complete the course. But I didn’t do that, so my allergies have continued. I’m allergic to the air, but maybe not as severely as my sisters. Also, my nose swells up easily, that’s another problem. These are health issues I’ve had since childhood. Sinusitis comes and goes, depending on the period. I still have it now, but it’s not as severe. It gets better after exercising. I remember one period, probably during the time of the movie Homestay and the 9×9 project… <\/p>\n\n

I remember that year, I don’t know how we managed to film three projects in one year. At the beginning of the year, we filmed Homestay (the whole thing). In the middle of the year, we filmed Blood Thicker Than Water. At the end of the year, we filmed Great Men Academy. And during that time, we had to rush back to Bangkok for concert rehearsals, then fly back to Chiang Mai. We’d film for four days, come back for concert rehearsals for three days, then go back to film for four days. That’s when I started getting migraines, so I went for a migraine checkup. The doctor gave me regular migraine medication, but when you go to a private hospital, they go all out. They’ll do special things, like order a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). I said okay, I just lay there for 30-40 minutes, and everything was fine. Then the doctor showed me the X-ray results and said I had a cyst in my brain, about 2.3 x 2.7 centimeters. I was silent. When I asked the doctor if it would be a problem, he had me try walking in a straight line. He said that from what I could see, it didn’t look like anything was wrong, but if the cyst grew and pressed on my brain, it would cause me to walk unsteadily. <\/p>\n\n

Currently, everything is normal. They analyzed that it’s likely a congenital cyst, which many people, including you, might have, but you just haven’t had a brain MRI. That’s why it wasn’t detected. We just happened to find it during a checkup. They said it didn’t seem dangerous and told us to follow up in 1 year, then 3 years. We went for follow-up appointments, and it did get slightly larger, just a little bit, not significantly larger to be worrying. Because, from what I understand, brain surgery is 50\/50 \u2013 I don’t know if that’s correct, but when I found the cyst, my heart sank. The room was so quiet, and I left with shaking hands. I called my sister who’s a doctor, but not a specialist in brain surgery or anything. I told her I had a migraine checkup but they found a cyst in my brain. She was silent for 5 seconds. I was like, “Don’t be silent!” I felt really bad when she was silent. But I explained to her what the doctor diagnosed and showed her the X-ray CD. She said her only concern was if there was an accident and she hit her head hard, and the cyst ruptured, that would be dangerous.<\/p>\n\n

Is it still available now?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> Yes, there is one named “Johnny” who monitors my condition constantly. And the MRI scan is the thing I dislike the most. I just realized I have claustrophobia. Some people say it’s just lying still, but when I open my eyes, it’s like I’m trapped inside, and I can’t move. At first, I thought, “What’s panic?” Now I understand what panic is. I couldn’t breathe. Do you understand what it’s like to be so scared you feel like you’re going to die? The feeling of being terrified, the feeling of being extremely scared. There’s an emergency button you can press if you feel unwell, and I pressed it. After pressing it, you have to go back in and start over. Normally, it takes 30 minutes, but I was in there for an hour.<\/p>\n\n

These days, you’re juggling both a restaurant and exercising. Where do you find the time to balance your life?<\/strong> Jamie James:<\/strong> If I didn’t drink alcohol, I’d have so much more time in my life. 30% of my life is spent drinking. We’re not alcoholics, we just enjoy the atmosphere. We only drink on special occasions. Today is the start of the week, so we drink. We drink mid-week at work. We drink on Friday and Saturday because we can’t be lonely, so we drink. On Sunday, we celebrate and drink before work. We drink for friends’ birthdays, when you’re in a relationship, when you’re heartbroken, and when your friends are heartbroken.<\/p>\n\n
