How was it after becoming a monk?
Joey: It was my first time ordaining as a monk. I felt that it was good. Personally, I am someone who respects the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. When I entered the temple, I adjusted well to being a monk.
What is the intention of ordination?
Joey: One, before becoming a singer, I made a promise to the sacred with my own words. I wanted to be successful in my career as an artist. If it goes as planned, such as having a house for my grandparents, and this dream comes true, I will ordain as a monk. I also took the opportunity to ordain as a monk for my grandparents and mother. I ordained for about 10 days.
After being ordained, have you applied it to your life?
Joey: I already adhere to the principles of Dhamma. I think well, do well, know how to let go, and accept it. I have always tried to do this and that. I have always done good deeds and helped others. But when I became a monk, I gained more peace in my mind.
Some people say that Joey is someone who believes in fate?
Joey: I believe in fate, in life after death, and in UFOs.
To the point of changing the name?
Joey: Yes, I still use Bank’s last name, the producer. I came to live in his house for 3-4 years, and then I changed my name from the original “Jakkrit Khamchit”. He said that this name came in the sense of becoming a monk and keeping the precepts, which would be good, but if I came in the sense of not keeping the precepts, it would be bad.
Why do you like singing?
Joey: Actually, I’ve liked it since I was a kid.
What song do you think changed Joey Phuwasit’s life and made him known until today?
Joey: Golden face
I heard you had a near-death experience?
Joey: At that time, I was still a kid. I went to collect lotus and rowed a boat and it capsized. It sank. Because I couldn’t swim, it was chaotic. Then there was a dog on the boat that swam. We saw why it could swim, so I tried to swim like it, and it survived.
